Sponsors and Donations Wanted for 2010 Reliability Gives Voice to Autism

SUCCESS by DESIGN®, Maintenance Technology Magazine, and the Autism Society of Illinois have joined together for a charity initiative to take place during MARTS 2010. Originally planned as a publishing awards event, we have expanded the scope of this occasion to raise awareness and funds for autism as many professionals in the industrial engineering, reliability, maintenance, energy and environment industries have been touched by this growing disorder.

We are looking for your support.

Today, with autism affecting more than 1 in 150 children, the Autism Society of America, and its chapters, such as the Autism Society of Illinois, reach out – and are reached out to – more than ever before. The selection of the Autism Society was specific in that it provides immediate support and services to the front line by assisting families affected by autism. This is in direct line with the prospective audience, the industrial engineering, reliability, maintenance, energy and environment communities who work the front line to maintain our essential industrial and manufacturing communities.

Over the next year we are developing awareness for both the engineering, reliability and maintenance community and autism culminating with a dinner and variety entertainment charity event at the 2010 MARTS Conference (date TBA – planned for the April, 2010 timeframe). We also expect to acknowledge our sponsors through a variety of means based upon the suggested levels of support and sponsorship, below.

The Autism Society of Illinois, founded in 1976 as a 501(C)(3) non-profit, is set up to receive sponsorship funds and donations for the event and activities. Leading up to and following the charity event, all proceeds will be split between the Autism Society of Illinois and the Autism Society of America. Sponsorships are considered tax deductable donations through the Autism Society of Illinois.

Suggested levels of sponsorship/donations include:

1. Platinum Sponsor (1 only): $10,000: Banner on stage, banner in event hall, literature at tables, prime position of logo on the front page of all direct event literature, paper, website banner and PR events leading up to the charity event;

2. Gold Sponsors (2 only): $5,000: Banner in event hall, literature at tables, logo on all direct event literature, paper, website banner, and PR event;

4. Bronze Sponsors: $1,000: Literature at tables, website listing with link;

Families of Autism Recognized by Reliability and Maintenance Industry

For Immediate Release –

April 2, 2009 – Naperville, Illinois and Old Saybrook, Connecticut

What do you do after winning the first two independent book awards in your industry? SUCCESS by DESIGN has partnered with a national autism organization to host a publishing party where ALL proceeds go to the autism society (to be announced in May, 2009) and the Autism Society of Illinois (http://www.autismillinois.org), a local chapter who will be working with us and handling incoming funds for the event. The event is planned for next April, 2010 – Autism Awareness Month.

It started out as a need to throw a party over the book awards this summer with friends, family, and associates that happen to have children or relatives with Autism. An idea sprung that we can give back to the community in a special way, as well as bring public awareness to the Reliability and Maintenance industry, an active effort by SUCCESS by DESIGN, and over the past month we have been planning, working up volunteers, discussing opportunities with potential sponsors and working out all of the details necessary for such an event.

The ink is still drying on many of the agreements and a few details are still being ironed out. However, because this is World Autism Awareness Day, we made the decision to pull the trigger a little early to bring awareness of this upcoming event. The concept is simple: The silent industry supports the silent children of autism. The RME&E industry is not a high profile industry, yet is valued at over $1.2 Trillion with opportunities for cost reduction of approximately $750 Billion. Yet we chose to enter the industry where we are silent. However, the children of autism do not get to make that choice. So, the RME&E industry raises its voice in support of those children.

We selected the national autism organization and the local organization, Autism Society of Illinois, for a very specific reason: while almost all of the Autism societies do great and worthy work, both organizations deal with the front lines throughout North America, bringing resources directly to those that need it. How fitting for an industry that deals with the issues on the front lines.

Starting April 1, 2009, a percentage of the proceeds for both award winning books: ¬¬Bronze Axiom Business Book Award ¬“Physical Asset Management for the Executive” and ForeWord Book of the Year Finalist, ”Electrical Motor Diagnostics: 2nd Edition,” which are both also nominated for the IPPY publishing awards, will be used for organizing the event (http://www.motordoc.com/publishing.htm), as well as a percentage of all SUCCESS by DESIGN profits. Everyone, including SUCCESS by DESIGN employees, is organizing the event as volunteers with ALL proceeds after direct expenses for advertising, promotion, organizing, the venue, and other costs associated with such an event, going directly to the cause.

Over the next month we will be organizing and finalizing details on the venue and the event and will continue to make announcements. We will be looking for sponsors, in addition to the ones that we have already been in contact with, and organizations that wish to work with us. If you have questions, or wish to be contacted about how you can participate or sponsor the event, please contact me directly at howard@motordoc.com or visit: http://autismbookevent.blogspot.com/ or http://www.motordoc.com

Let’s all do what everyone else just talks about!

Sincerely,
